MASSAGE THERAPY
Scientific research is gathering evidence that strongly suggest that many illnesses (such as heart problems, constipation, indigestion, ulcers, headaches, colitis, arthritis and even some cancers) can be caused by chronic tension. Releasing tension will not only prevent expensive medical bills in the future, but will also aid in improving performance and preventing injury in athletic endeavors. Massage is a natural, enjoyable and inexpensive way to begin a health maintenance program.

Swedish Massage
This is likely the most common type of massage that comes to mind when people think of a massage. It includes long, fluid strokes used to relieve muscle tension and improve circulation. Lotions are typically used to reduce friction and soothe the skin. This technique will ease you into relaxation, increase the oxygen level in the blood, improve your circulation and flexibility and relieve stress throughout your entire body.

Deep Tissue Massage
A deep tissue massage at Vitality Unlimited Spa is very similar to a Swedish Massage, but targeted on specific “tight” or “sore” spots making it an overall workout for the body. One specific difference in this massage technique is that your therapist will use massage strokes across the grain of the muscle instead of with the grain to work out knots or tension in the muscle tissue. Because this massage uses more pressure on tense muscles, it may be slightly uncomfortable and can cause soreness that may last a couple of days before desired relief is achieved. This type of massage is highly beneficial for athletes.

Couples Massage
A couples massage is a perfect way to introduce a spouse, friend, sibling, or parent to the benefits of massage. Simply having someone with you the first time can be reassuring and can relieve apprehensions about the massage process. Our couples massage is performed in a private room with two massage tables and two therapists – one for each of you. Each person is covered in his or her own linens to maintain his or her privacy. For partners, this is a great experience for bonding and connecting on an spiritual level.

LaStone Massage
Healing with stones is an ancient form of therapy used by various cultures throughout the ages. The practice of hot stone therapy utilizes hot and cold basalt stones combined with Swedish or Deep Tissue massage. The heat and energy from the stones penetrates deep into the tissues allowing the the therapist to work muscles deeper for a truly relaxing and healing experience. Like other massage styles, this massage style is beneficial for relieving muscle aches, increasing circulation, and relieving stress and anxiety. Because of the deep penetration of the heat from the stones, it has been beneficial for people who struggle with rheumatic and arthritic conditions, fibromyalgia, insomnia and depression.

Prenatal Massage
During pregnancy, a woman’s body is under extraordinary stress, especially considering the muscular, skeletal, circulatory and glandular systems. Massage is a drug-free form of pain relief, which is vitally important for expecting women. It enhances the mother’s ability to relax and promotes movement to help with exercise and to improve circulation. More common benefits also include relief from muscular cramps, backaches and headaches while reducing swelling/edema and overall fatigue.
Our staff utilizes a special bolstering system to support the mother and baby securely during the massage. Appropriate lotions and essential oils are incorporated to enhance the overall experience with comfort and safety in mind. Both mother and baby will benefit from this specialized massage. NOTE: Women experiencing a high-risk pregnancy should consult their physician before scheduling an appointment.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy
™
Cranial-Sacral Therapy is a noninvasive form of alternative medicine related to the membranes and movement of the fluid surrounding the skull and spinal cord. Our therapists gently release any restrictions of the nerve passages by restoring misaligned bones to their proper placement. This process is thought to eliminate any negative effects of stress as well as provide relief from back and neck pain, temporomandibular joint disorder – the inflammation of the joints around the lower jaw and skull, and migraine headaches.

Reflexology Massage
Through reflexology, our therapists place specific pressure on zones of the foot or hand to release energy flow to nerve endings that correspond to the organs in the body. Hands and feet are the only areas addressed during a reflexology session, so there isn’t any need to remove clothing other than socks and shoes.
30 Minutes (hands OR feet) – $50
1 Hour (hand and feet) – $75
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
This work employs a light, rhythmic touch with pressure on the lymph nodes to increase the flow of fluid through the lymphatic system. It speeds up the detoxification process and stimulates circulation. This is a specialized technique for maintaining a healthy immune system.
1 Hour 30 Minutes – $110
Aromatherapy Massage
This is a personalized, therapeutic method of massage using natural essential oils to help treat various physical and psychological issues. The Essential Oils are actually extracts of various plants, flowers, and fruits. They are mixed with other carrier oils generating a pleasant, relaxing scent that affects your mood and promotes healing. Your massage will be customized using our Zyto Compass that sends energy stimuli to the body measuring virtual stressors resulting in an aromatherapy treatment just for your massage.

“I have been getting weekly massages from Chris for a long time. Of course they have always felt wonderful but it wasn’t until this summer when I have been traveling and unable to get them regularly that I fully realized their benefits. My joints have tightened up and my muscles ache. Hopefully with regular massage I will return to my old pain-free self!” – Nancy
“Chris– Thanks for agreeing to be my massage therapist. Over the last year you have helped me remain flexible and in balance. By doing so, some of my golf buddies have grinded their teeth, said some things under their breath and out loud. I enjoy it when they get that way! I hope you’re able to keep me in this condition for some time to come. Thanks for all of your hard work.” – Marvin
“Amy approaches a massage in a holistic manner, inquiring about the client’s state of being physically as well as asking about family and work. She begins the session with a moment of breathing together which makes a connection between client and therapist. She assures my comfort during the massage and offers advice and exercises to combat chronic pain issues. She demonstrates a thorough understanding of kinesiology. The best compliment I can give is to have referred family and friends to Amy.” – Peggy
“I am a licensed cosmetologist and have lived in large cities so I expect a lot from a spa. My salon does not provide spa services so I tried Vitality. I must say that I have never been happier with a spa. Every time I go I know that every staff member is invested in making my visit wonderful. I recently had two major surgeries and Nelly is caring and always makes me feel so comfortable. Bonnie is also amazing and so sweet. I just want to make sure that the management is aware that they are both assets to your company. I am a happy and loyal client!” – Mandy
